John Lennon writes his song about peace and love and believed that with the power of hope and love between a lot of people true change can happen. He thought his songs would make a difference for the better in the world.
1.He believed that if someone had a dream and didn't share it the dream would not become a reality, but if someone had a dream and shared it with the world and got followers, the world would become a better place.
"A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality. "
"Imagine all the people living life in peace.
2. He thought love would overcome all.
"All you need is love."
"Everything is clearer when you're in love."
"Love and peace are eternal."
3. Peace was very important to him and thought if enough people truly believed in peace, it could actually happen.
"If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there would be peace."
"All we are saying is give peace a chance."
"If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem."
John Lennon was a very easy person to get along with. He had many friends and apparently he worked well with others. New York Studio : "WORKING WITH JOHN LENNON WAS the least painful thing I ever did in my life," says New York studio giant Gordon Edwards. "He didn't bother or bug you at all; he let you be yourself. He'd just sit down and we'd start playing."

"imagine" was released in September of 1971. inspired by Elvis
"Imagine" was released in 1971. I believe he wrote the song about the band breaking up in 1970. The Beatles broke up because of differences possibly on political views or just personal differences. The song is about imagining a world where there was peace and nothing that came between people and separated them. I think this was part of the reason "imagine" was written.
Some people think the band broke up because of Yoko Ono. (his wife)
Imagine:" Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one"
When people heard his music they really listened and it made them think.
"Give Peace a Chance" was recorded May 31, 1969 during a Bed-In that Yoko Ono and John Lennon did to promote peace. This song was about the bed in and was used to promote peace and get people's attention. They got the media's attention like they wanted and people started listening and protesting.
October 29th, 1971 was when "Happy Xmas ( War is Over)" was written. This song was about how at Christmastime all issues, fights, and wars should stop and everyone no matter the age, race, rich or poor, should be able to enjoy Christmas without any troubles.

"If there hadnt been an Elvis there wouldnt have been the Beatles. " John Lennon.
John Lennon was highly influenced by Elvis. He really liked Elvis because his songs meant something and when his music came on people really listened to the words and meaning.
His song Imagine has become the most popular anthem of peace.
He was raised by his aunts
After the Bealtes broke up he began "engaging in social activism; giving long, passionate interviews that, once again, broadened the nature of public discourse for artists; defining a new life as a self-described "househusband;" or writing and recording songs,"
After the Beatles broke up John Lennon went solo but also worked with his wife Yoko Ono
"John Lennon was the most iconic Beatle. He was the group's most committed rock & roller, their social conscience, and their slyest verbal wit. With the Beatles, he wrote or co-wrote dozens of classics — from “She Loves You” to “Come Together” — and delivered many of them with a cutting, humane, and distinct voice that would make him one of the greatest singers rock has ever produced."
The Beatles went on to revolutionize rock music several times over
The Beatles are a pivotal part of rock's story
not just because their music can still dazzle but because their arrival as rock 'n' rollers with an endless stream of original material challenged what anyone had imagined pop could become....
Lennon; married Cynthia Powell, August 23, 1962 (divorced November 8, 1968); married Yoko Ono (an artist, vocalist, songwriter, and author), March 20, 1969; children: (first marriage) John Julian; (second marriage) Kyoko (stepdaughter), Sean Taro Ono.
he was a believer in everything "I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?"
